The Capuchin Friars of Karnataka Holy Trinity Province along with the faithful paid homage to the CRPF troops who lost their lives in the recent terror attack that occurred at Pulwama.

22nd February 2019 being the day of Retreat at the Divine Mercy Retreat Centre the friars along with the retreatants offered the Holy Eucharist at 11.15 am for the deceased souls of the soldiers. Soon after the Eucharist, the adoration was held led by Fr Alban, the parish priest of Kalmady Church. 

At 1.00pm a memorial tribute was held in the presence of the Col Raj Mannar and Retired Sub Inspector CRPF Mr Stany Lasrado.  Speaking on the occasion, Col Raj Mannar thanked all the faithful for the wonderful gesture of paying tribute to the deceased soldiers and sought the prayerful support to the handicapped army personnel. “Every soldier does his duty not to attack the enemy rather save his county men”, he said.

Towards the climax of the Memorial service, every faithful gathered offered flowers on the memorial board. Fr Melwyn, the guardian of St Anne’s Friary thanked Col Raj and all the faithful gathered for their prayerful solidarity to the deceased Army personnel. Fr Derick compered the memorial event.
